Giving

Thank you for your support!

God provides for the ministry of our church through your tithes and offerings and your gifts are honored with faithful stewardship, ethical business practices, and accountability to our lead team and denomination.  It’s more than keeping the lights on and the gears turning; it’s about personal worship of God and handing Him back what He already owns---and it’s about lives changing through the transformative power of the Gospel in our region and beyond.

But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this?

Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand.”

~1 Chronicles 29:14

Stewardship

Stewardship involves how we use the gifts God has given us.  At Hickory Neck, we encourage everyone to make a gift of time, talent, and treasure, to support the mission and ministry of our parish.  Every gift is different.  Every gift is treasured!

Other ways to give

In addition to supporting the general operating budget and ministries, there are other ways to contribute to Hickory Neck so that future generations can enjoy the blessing of our property and facilities.  Below are various funds that you can support.

Many of our members find making their pledge easier by setting up automatic check drafts from their bank accounts.  We can also receive stock transfers.  We encourage all parishioners to remember Hickory Neck in your estate planning, ensuring Hickory Neck is here for generations to come.

“Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.   And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.”

2 Corinthians 9:7-8

General Fund

Hickory Neck parishioners pledge to the General Fund which supports our annual operating budget.  This includes our staff, program expenses, property upkeep and mortgage interest.  Paid staff is comprised of our Rector, Curate, Minister of Music, Parish Administrator, Choral Scholars and Nursery Attendants.  The costs of utilities, maintenance, insurance and office supplies add up quickly. Program expenses for Worship, Pastoral Care, Christian Formation, and Parish Life are also covered in the operating budget.  We at Hickory Neck Church support working toward tithing, so that the annual budgets can be fully funded, providing support for our growing congregation.

Building Fund

A separate Building Fund was established in 1980 when plans were formalized to build the Parish House, now the Wilkinson Center.

Endowment/Covenant Funds

The Endowment/Covenant Funds are a way for people to contribute toward the long-term fiscal security of the Historic Chapel and Hickory Neck Church.

Historic Chapel Preservation Fund

Bequests/gifts made for use in the preservation of the Hickory Neck Historic Chapel.
